This competition consisted of three rounds: the preliminary round was through auditions, while the semi-finals and finals are done in front of the entire school. In the final round the winner of this competition is voted by the general student body as well as community members. In 2018, I was the S-factor winner. Goodman Theatre - Musical Theater Showcase 2017

This performance was a culmination of an 8 week musical theater intensive program (fully paid by Goodman Theater). This showcase was student directed, with the help of nationally renowned mentors like Doug Peck, Mark Chaitin, McKenzie Chinn, Breon Arzell, and Darien Tene. Through expressing strong passion for jazz music and R&B, I was given the opportunity to sing many solos on the Goodman Theater stage. Additionally, my extensive background in Carnatic music enabled me to add in an improvisational piece preceding a musical theater piece from “Rags”. I was proud to engage my peers as well as the audience in a cultural shift, while showcasing my versatility as a Western musician, and Indian Classical musician.People & Blogs
